Training Practice

Villette Surgery became a training practice in August 2019, which means that we will be joined by a GP Registrar who is taking part in the Northumbria GP Training scheme usually for a period of six months.

The GP Registrar is a qualified doctor who has already worked in differnt hospital departments and may have worked in other GP surgeries.

Dr Devlin will be responsible for training the GP Registrar who will be supervised at all times as part of the training process.

Occasionally consultations with the GP Registrar ma be video recorded.  This only happens with your prior warning and written consent and is for training purposes to try and improve consultation skills.  In addition Dr Devlin and the GP Registrar may do a joint surgery when they take turns in seeing patients.  This again is a training tool used in other practices and you wil be informed if your appointment is in a joint surgery.

The GP Registrar will take part in all clinical activities at the surgery that the other Doctors perform.

GP Earnings

NHS England requires that the net earnings of doctors engaged in the practice is publicised, and the required disclosure is shown below. However it should be noted that the prescribed method for calculating earnings is potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time doctors spend working in the practice, and should not be used to form any judgement about GP earnings, nor to make any comparison with any other practice

The average pay for GPs working in Villette Surgery in the financial year ended 31 March 15 was £91,788 before tax and national insurance. This is for 2 full time GP’s, 2 part time GPs.
